BACN Metting in Southampton

A interesting day today at the BACN (British association of cosmetic nurses). An introduction to some great new products and skin peel range PCA. “This range has been developed over 25 years. They deliver overall skin health and provide added nutrients for faster, more dramatic results” I have had one of these great peels today and I’m awaiting to see the results unfold over the next few weeks. These peels can be Used on a range of skin types with little discomfort, minimal visual exfoliation. They can also help with a wide variety of conditions.

The application of retinol to human skin has been shown to induce epidermal thickening and cellular retinoid binding proteins characteristic of retinoic acid; this evidence supports the hypothesis that retionol acts as a pro hormone of retinoic acid. But without irritations. These changes include stimulation of fibroblast growth, reduction in MMP levels, stimulation of collegen synthesis and anti melanogenic activity. I look forward to introducing these products to my portfolio at the lodge.

Really excited about my new addition coming on Wednesday. It’s the Innopen Powered Microneedling Pen – for Professional Use Only.

“Microneedling, also known as skin needling, is a procedure using a device with tiny shallow needles to essentially poke holes in the skin surface. These holes are actually therapeutic, they cause au ‘micro injury’ that prompts skin to stimulate collagen production, filling in fine lines, plumping the skin and contributing to a younger look.”

The procedure is relatively painless due to a topical anesthetic being applied beforehand
The treatment can help reduce the appearance of lines, scars, discolouration, it also works really great for sunken areas on the skin caused by acne or chickenpox, and general skin rejuvenation. This safe procedure isn’t just for the face, though. It can also be used on many areas of the body, including the arms, neck, legs, abdomen, back and hands.

The Innapen is described as ” A Micro-Needling Pen that is a state of the art device designed for professional use only. Unlike all other devices available in the EU, Innopen is totally unique in that it deploys the worlds only sealed treatment tip. This design enables the practitioner to absolutely ensure there treatment depth is delivered in a totally controlled environment. Utilising a needle entry system ensure skin is not retracted into the needle tip causing uncontrolled depth, microscopic tears and tissue damage.

The Innopen is a powered device with adjustable speed settings and depth control in 0.1mm increments from 0mm-2mm in the Medical Version.”

Off to Harley street

I’m off again in the beginning of March for some more advanced training. I will be treating Hyperhydrosis (excess sweating) cheek enhancements, eyebrow lift and mid to lower face toxin treatments. This is a really exciting time with Spring around the corner and all of us wanting to feel fresh. I will be offering these treatments from the second week of March. As always all consultations are free with no obligation, I’m happy to meet either in sandown at guys and dolls, Newport at beautify, or here at the lodge.

New year and new you

Since the opening of the clinic 7th November I have had a really positive response. The Christmas special on Skin Peels has really taken off. Clients have been very surprised at the results, very little downtime, with little redness to follow. Some comments have been around the price comparison to a facial. The results are more impressive and long lasting, but the cost is similar. Its a great way to kick off Christmas and a must for the new year.

Vouchers are available for Christmas a great gift for that special person or even the one your not sure what to buy.

I am really looking forward to the BACN ( British association of cosmetic nurses)Southampton & Portsmouth regional meeting on 1st December. It is great to meet with other healthcare professional with the same interest in aesthetics. It is an opportunity to share information, experiences and best practice as well as getting a sponsored Christmas lunch thanks to Mert !!!.

Thoughts for the future year ahead
If The lodge continues to grow as positively as it has so far. We will continue with our plans for the new clinic in the courtyard. My husband is thrilled at the prospect of again more work. This area should give me another two clinical rooms and more space for relaxation and good coffee and cake for all.
